Dear Friends of Sticky Fingers Delectables!
So of late I have been thinking about my business: what makes it tick, and what makes Sticky Fingers Delectables thrive. After almost five years owning this business I thought it now appropriate to share with you some of my thoughts about the ice cream business, and what ice cream achieves in the world.
But wait a minute. Does ice cream 'achieve' anything in the world? I think it does.
When, going on five years ago, I took over Sticky Fingers, I was closing out one chapter of my life (working for a big corporation in a skyscraper in central Manhattan) and beginning another, more bucolic one. Though my 25 years in New York City were exciting and educational, they were also driven by the relentless struggle to compete, achieve, survive and dominate. During those long years I finally came to realize through hard failure that the only thing really worth pursuing in life, in any human life, is happiness, simple gentle happiness, happiness that hurts no one but only hands itself on.
Leaving the glittering skyscrapers of Manhattan behind, this became and still is our One Big Project at Sticky Fingers Delectables: to be a 'happiness factory' for everyone who visits us. It is ONE BIG PROJECT. But, as all of us face so many unexpected and often demoralizing challenges alone and together, I am convinced that over in our cozy little corner shop, tucked away on the lazy shores of Kauneonga Lake, you and I, customers and vendor alike, are doing our very best--together, for a moment, one scoop, one swirl, one billow at a time--to wash away all the tears of the world. THAT'S an achievement, oh yes it is!

About Our Ice Creams and Sorbets
The ice creams and sorbets we sell at Sticky Fingers are made by Jane’s Ice Cream of Kingston, NY. These fine creams use only the best hormone-free milk from New York State cows and only the finest natural and local ingredients to flavor their ice creams. With no artificial flavors or colors and only plant-based stabilizers, you can rest assured that our tasty confections live up to your quality and taste bud standards. All flavors, except those containing the words "cookie," "cake," "pretzel," or "dough," are gluten free. All of the sorbets are completely dairy-free and made with simple de-seeded and de-fibred whole fruit. All flavors are egg free. All nut flavors are produced at the end of the day, after which all machinery is broken down and sanitized for the next day. If someone in your party has a nut allergy, please inform the server/manager and that member of your party will be served first.
